So my GF's camera has broken, and she asked me to find her a good one, seeing as I'm one of the more camerally inclined people that she knows. Well, I thought that would be easy, seeing as last time I checked the SX110 IS and some Lumix were the two best P&S's for a bit over 200, and I thought by now they would have dropped under 200, or I could wait a little for a nice sale. Unfortunately I don't even think they're sold anymore. So I'm left with some other things with crappy zoom abilities and tiny screens... What the hell happened? What am I missing?

So I need some recommendations, point and shoots under 200 USD. We're from Rochester so we have some distrust in Kodak and Fujifilm alike. I would personally like to steer away from them unless they blow away the competition.

Thanks guys, and girls. =]

So older cameras are still viable? Newer ones aren't that much better, if at all?

I don't know about any other camera other than my own, my mom's Sony and my daughter's Kodak.

I have used all 3 and prefer mine and I never got close to getting the quality I get with my Canon.
And the delay between pressing the button and picture taken is minimal, which was imposrtant to me when I was shopping for a camera...
