hi there i'm looking at getting a 35-80mm mk III wide angle lens for my canon 1000d

found a reasonably cheap one for £40

what do you think? has anyone used/got one? any good?

Never heard of a lens under the Mark III Series of bodies....

What do you mean ?
It is the 3. version of that lens. Like the 50mm Mk2 you have. :)

But to the topic. You will not get much wide from it. I think you should save up some money a buy a better more expensive lens. You will thank your self.

Why not just say "50mm f/1.8"
I don't get where the "Mk2" comes from lol.

Because it is the 2. version. :)
You can also get a 50D, and a 50D mk2. They are not the same.
They do it to make sure you will get the right lens or body. But I see the mk-thing makes it unclear to some people. :P
