Well within the next month I will be getting a few more things for my camera. One of them being a backpack and one of them being a 50mm f1.4 Nikkor :P Anyway I was just curious if any of you have suggestions as to what to get. It needs to hold the camera and lenses etc (obviously), my 15" macbook pro, and preferably have a large extra compartment for other things like school books. I need something very durable, but at the same time I want something that looks nice as far as backpacks go, don't wanna be carrying some big bulking thing around.

I've been leaning towards this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/584104-REG/Tamrac_338501_3385_Aero_Speed_Pack.html

Ready... Discuss!

^_^

Thanks for any input...

I have 2 ^_^

National Geographic Messenger bag Large. This is PERFECT for carrying a body and 2-3 lenses. (1 being on the body) as well as a laptop, and any other cables, mem. cards, readers, batteries etc.

Black's Photography Signature bag. Holds all 4 of my lenses, body, flash, blower, batts, mem, triggers etc. everything, even my pocket video recorder. It's perfect and very cheap!

Get both or one ^_^ Highly suggested!

Great bag, it will work great for what you need it.
I recommend it.
Or get anything from Kata (it's my fav bag company, they are a little expensive but they are the best IMO), I have a Kata r-103 and Crumpler 7mil dollar home.

I find myself annoyed with all the little compartments, but then they are good cause they give comfort and support for the things you have. I would suggest the same ones everyone else here suggests, but really go to the store itself, try it on and get something comfortable and something that will fit all your gear (and possibly a tripod). I miss not having a tripod holder for my backpack. I end up taking a bike back pack just so I can carry my tripod. It fits great where the straps are that are actually supposed to hold a skateboard

Only problem with the National Geo one is that it isn't a backpack. I'd much rather prefer a backpack style for day long hiking trips etc. I probably wouldn't trust myself much with a shoulder bag climbing on rocks and stuff. Its all about a sense of security haha...

I originally wanted a Crumpler bag to be honest. But I've pretty much decided against that cause I can get something that will work just as good for less. I think the thing I like most about the bag I linked is the side pocket thing. Makes it easy to just pull out the camera and shoot, rather than setting the bag down unclipping and unzipping everything. Much less of a hassle...

I was planning on going to the store to see it and make sure it'd work and all. But then I'd probably turn around and buy it online for cheaper, unless they will match prices (which they've done before). I would carry my tripod around, but its HUGE haha... The tripod I have is for my FinishLynx camera, so I rarely use it for my D80. I was meaning to, while I was in the store, look for a smaller tripod that'd be more convenient to carry like that. We'll see. I've got so much plans for the money that I'm making that I dunno what'll happen. I need to prioritize my wish list.

Edit: Thanks for input everyone...

Yeah, it is definitely handy to be able to carry one around... trust me. I would go there to try it on and then if they don't match the price then buy it online! :D

Yep, that was the plan. They are pretty good about matching price though. When I bought my camera they knocked off 200 bucks to match price. My guess is that they will. Assuming they have this actual bag that is. If they don't guess I'm s.o.l. on getting to see it before I buy it.

Yeah - that's nice of them to do that. It keeps the place in business when you buy local :) The camera store I bought my lens off of did that too... the price had gone up, but since the old price was still on the internet he gave the old price to me. :)

Yeah, I might even consider buying my lens off of them too if they match. That way no shipping and handling, AND I'd be able to play with it right then and there... Haha. Going to the camera store tomorrow! Seriously though, I got my nice stack of cash from working the horse races today... Time to go impulse buying! Haha...

<3 impulse buying! Went on a 500 dollar shopping spree in a huge mall here, it was FUN! :) Enjoy the shopping tomorrow!
