b/w

First time posting here..I'm a noob at this. Anyway, I just went out with my camera (digital) cause the sky was a beautiful yellowish color. I know the subject is not particularly interesting but that was the only photo worth keeping basically..
What do you think ? Any tips ? I want to get better at this.

It looks okay for a rookie :) I'd suggest trying to think more about the composition before taking the shot - these feel rather straight on. If you use photoshop at all than I'd use it to remove the purple fringing which is evident on the branches in #1. Otherwise they're pretty good :) Nice feel.

Thanks. I didn't use photoshop at all except for the b/w gradient map :O
And you're right, I really didn't think much about the shot.Kinda weird because when i do gfx composition comes naturally to me ( i don't have to think about the rule of thirds for example, it's automatic). I guess photography requires some more work in this field.

Yeah. Although I use photoshop to change things that turned out dis-satisfactorily on my shots I'd definitely say that the time balance when it comes to photography should be something like 90% shot, 10% editing.

I really like the first one!!!! Not so much the black and white one, since the color make the interesting part :)
