HOORAY!So, as you know Camera RAW Was not cooperating with me, I was forced to edit in Lightroom, which is lacking MANY of the RAW Editing options CS3 has.
But I found a fix!!
When you buy/download etc. the original Photoshop CS3 [Extended], it comes with the standard Camera RAW 4.0 plug-in.
HOWEVER, this plug-in is from previous years, before certain camera models have been released.
This means, if you're using any camera manufactured between 1990-2007, 4.0 will have the version to support your .CR2 files.
BUT, if you're using a model made past 2007 -- (Canon 450D, XS, T1i, etc, etc.) Your RAW Photos will not be supported!!!
The good news is, I have a fix for it! YAY!It was hard to find the download for
4.4.1 (Don't download 5.4 which is the newest version, it's messed up and because Adobe is full of retards, only made it workable with CS4.)But here it is:
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3896Firstly, download that. You will need a program such as WinZip to open the ZIP File. Once you open it,
.8bi file.
COPY (Ctrl + C) that file!
1. Exit Photoshop CS3.
2. Open My Computer.
3. Double-click Local Disk (C:).
4. Navigate to: c:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats5. Move the existing Camera Raw.8bi plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop).
Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back. (I stuck mine in a folder on my documents titled KEEP FOR CS3)
6.
Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw.8bi, from the download into the same folder as in step 4.7. Launch Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Bridge.
Works like a charm for me and my Canon EOS 450D. Yay!
