These things are all over my property and they have a nasty habit of living in the grave of my old chow chow... At least they are kinda tame, otherwise I never would have got this shot, I was less then 2 yards from the chipmunk.

Beautiful and touching...
It's like the chipmunk is your dog's friend, caring and watching the grave..

He was 16 years old, my parents got him the year they were married, and he was older then me.

Aw. My dog is 14 atm... I hope she also makes it to 16 <3 Although that is incredibly uncommon for such a large dog...

I like it! (Although I don't like the vignette!)

I get a feeling, like Marie said, that the Chipmunk is protecting, watching and guarding your Dog from intruders.

Why not? Dogs/cats are part of a family, they get brought in, fed every day, sleep every night with you.
Perhaps you wouldn't understand if you have never had one, but everybody I know who has ever had a dog that passed, they have buried it in front of back of their house, with a tombstone etc.
Why wouldn't you? what would you do with a part of your family?
