Well... let me first point out that apart from my new found photography hobby I've always been an avid tech/comp geek

I decided to post this in the photography section as it involves photographs and I can actually show it off to people who aren't in for just +1's

If a mod finds this incredibly off-topic than I won't be too offended if you lock / move it. Anyways, onto the story!
So... the other morning I woke up like any other day with the exception that I was exceptionally (no intention of using the same word :X) tired that morning. As soon as I was able to get on my feet I lugged into the kitchen and poured myself a cup-o-coffee and brought it back to the computer to browse new posts here in the photography forum before my inevitable doom - SCHOOL! Unlike most mornings however, this morning I was tired enough to knock my coffee cup right over as I was reaching for it resulting in the contents of the cup instantaneously flooding my keyboard

From the little electronic knowledge I have I knew immediately that it was a goner considering the acidic nature of coffee and the amount of exposure it had received. Just as I had predicted, even after taking it apart and relentlessly cleaning every nook and cranny it slowly started malfunctioning until finally it met it's fate. "So, why all the drama over a keyboard?", I suppose you're thinking right now... well at the time I bought it I had money to burn which means that I spent a good ~$80ish on a nice board. Now, being the miserable poor **** I am I realized I wouldn't be able to cough up the required money to get one of equal standard... So, what was my solution?
Well it was NEMI ofcourse!
Nemi is the name of my new (well old) keyboard that I'm currently modifying to fit my needs

Nemi is being made from an old Dell RT7D20 keyboard that I've had laying around for WAY too long. My goals with her are to add enough weight so she won't slip around while typing, adding a new nice color finish (white body with brown keys + legs) and rounding the rather intrusive extruding edges on the original one. Although at the moment of writing this she isn't complete, I'm planning for her to be within the next few days

So... without further ado, I present to you, Nemi! In her delineated, unfinished nature
Before her surgery:

Her current state during surgery: (Completely cleaned with alcohol, extrusive edges fixed, sandpapered for an easier time making the paint coat stick, Dell logo removed)

Dear, d2jsp photography users
As I'm sure you are dying to see the end results of Nemi (irony intended) pics will be posted within the next few days.... Enjoy!
