Well - per futu's request I took a landscape. I don't quite like the outcome (mainly because it's a kinda random place) of this shot but my shot of "statshuset" was of too poor quality. I do however, very much enjoy the self-portrait I took as I believe it turned out great! It's much harder than it seems to manually focus on yourself when you have to reference lol. None the less:

Hhmm..
They are both fantastic ideas.
However, I'm not diggin' the vignette on the Landscape. A Vignette is used to draw the attention to one part of the image (Which would be the center for the vignette you used)
The thing is, the first thing my eye catches are the tree to the right, and the vignette sets it off.
I think also, if you added some small contrast and saturation adjustments to it, this would make it a lot more appealing!

The self portrait is great, Perfect composition!
The thing I don't like is the "glamor glow" effect, I think it would look better without that because of the fact you have such a good DoF in it.
I also notice 3 dirt/dust specs to the right of your body in it.

Wow. Well thanks for the constructive feedback, I've no idea how you could be bothered to change colors like that though... anyways. I agree with you completly, I'm just a viginette whore so I use it in way too many shots than I really should. The "dust speckles" are, believe me or not, two boats and a hot air baloon lol. I'm sure of it as I cleaned all my equipment right before I went out and shot these and there were tonnes of baloons in the air tonight x3 The "glamour" effect you mention is meerly meant to give the picture more feeling as I felt it was rather lacking without. Thanks a lot for your opinion though, unfortunately there aren't many people who share them here :)

Yeah that first one is not as bad as you think it is. It's neat. Kind of looks "old" just the way you have it vignette and the dust particle in the sky. But I think Spencer is right, it should be there for the subject.

The second one, however, is great! :) Love it actually - haha. I can't do self-portraits like that.\

Btw, it's nice to see you posting more; you should join the guild! :P

I am not sure if I like that landscape photo :p BUT I definitely like your self portrait! It really looks amazing almost like a poster for a movie hmm actually it somehow reminds me of the movie Titanic xD
Btw what did you do to it when you were post processing that picture?

Yeah! I also think you should join our guild I mean it's not like you don't have enough fg to join it or something :p

Heh thanks a lot :) Perhaps I will : > This was pretty much my first time attempting a self-portrait and I was quite satisfied with the result ^_^ I feel I myself could have looked better in it (lol) but I figured it would have been impossible to get a good shot of yourself as well as a good shot hah.

Thanks  Well, as always I adjusted certain colors etc on both of them although I hardly did much to them in the .raw editing options this time as the sunset gave off such warm colors to everything. The main thing I did with the self-portrait shot (which I otherwise pretty much never do) was that I kinda made it hdr-ish. Well, a similar principle atleast. I duplicated the layers three times, set one to 'normal' blending options, set another to 'screen' blending options and I set the last one to 'multiply' blending options. Basically screen is going to make it too bright and multiply is going to make it too dark. I than merged them all to one layer and just because I'm a perfectionist I added a 50px blur to the whole thing because I noticed that I was unsharp at about a 1600xh res. That's also why there is an almost uncanny dof (although it was still huge before the blur).
