Hey there

There is a very similar thread regarding someone wanting to buy a camera, around the same budget as you.

http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=31560163&f=265

Read there for some suggestions :)

And take your time choosing a camera, it's a lot of money to give away in 30 seconds :)

Or you can type into google the camera name and review. Like this: Canon Rebel XTI Review - and you'll find LOTS! :) Which camera were you looking at?

Well I think it's a lil bit too cheap. There is one rule you need to learn about buying camera equipment, you get what you pay for.
From what I have heard and seen Canon has much better entry level cameras than Nikon. If you can find a new or even used XTI you definitely should get one :)
