I'm looking at extension tubes right now, they seem better than a close up filter because they will allow my 70-200 to become a much higher 400mm max, while still keeping the 1Meter focusing distance = great zoom.

Yeah. I would like one of those too! But I was thinking of macro photography with a near filter.

All the near filter does it act as a magnifying glass, literally.
