Well if you check the response to the question I asked in thephotoforum that Hoya Pro D1 filter may be just as good as that 200+ dollar B+W filter. Like you I am totally not willing to pay 200+ bucks for a stupid filter lol.

I don't know why my 17-85 lens perform so poorly sometimes lol maybe it's just me but you are right that Sigma lens is noticeably sharper and it's actually cheaper than the Canon lens
