in a few weeks i will be shooting shots at a show/live for the first time
and i really need some tips so i dont waste time in trying to figure the best settings to shoot under
so i was wondering if there were any experienced people who can give me useful tips.

settings depends on what lights there are in that place, just use manual settings and spot metering and adjust shutterspeed, f-number and iso depending how much light is there. Most likely you will need prime lens with low f-number. Have you ever been in that place or you got eny idea what the place is like? Allso need to know how close you can get to the stage. 2 out of 3 places i have shot were so dark you need 6400 iso and 1.8 f-number to get eny kind of shots.

its really dark in there besides the stage which is pretty lighted. and i can get 5 to 15 feet.

what lenses do you own? and can you use flash in that place?
