hmm ok first of all I think you got too much of the very very dark ground. Maybe you should have got more of the nice looking sky and clouds. Second I think your camera was having a hard time capturing the darker area of the sky because it looks so pixelated. Oh and it's a lil bit blurry as well. I know it is almost impossible to get a good low light photo with a point and shoot camera but I think the composition could have been better :)

You used an S5 IS for this? I used to use that and never saw quality like this :S

Maybe you have some of the settings off?? (Or too low ISO)

I think that the picture has just been scaled down / out of proportion wayyy too much. ISO 100 with a 15 second shutter speed should be fine...but a 64kb picture is realllly damn small.

I have read a couple of reviews about point and shot cameras on dpreview.com and according to the experts those point and shoot cameras have extremely tiny sensors compared to dslrs which means that a lot less light could be detected or whatever by those sensors which means they usually need to be amplified digitally which also adds a lot of noise. If that makes sense lol. Usually when you buy an expensive compacts you are usually buying those fancy features like IS, tons of different picture styles etc etc but the image sensors in those are just as crappy as those cheaper ones. It's kinda like going to BurgerKing and order a Whopper and add a bunch of patties and cheese and bacon and all that kind of crap but in the end it's still a greasy disgusting burger  Anyway if you want a point and shoot that can capture pictures with decent quality you may want to look at some of those made by Panasonic and avoid Nikon at all cost :o course their Coolpix cameras are more like CrapPix.
