I was just asking if I was missing something...but I guess I am not.
What I look for in a photo :
a) What is this about? What am I supposed to see first here?

What is happening or what feeling am I supposed to get from this?
c) How is it composed? Basic rules being followed? etc.
Looking at your 2nd picture, I can see that you're drinking Gin in some random place that I cannot see. I mean if you were at a police station and drinking gin in front of it, sure...that would add another element to the photo.
But nothing is happening other than beverage consumption.
Its exposed well I guess.
Well i wasnt trying to make bigger than life art here, these are just some random snapshots i took today. You seem to post snapshots here too(i didnt search meny of your topics, so dunno what else u post), hence the mirror..
Imo just visual goodies is enough to make some pic look good, but only that wont make it good photo art and i wasnt trying to do that.
Imo basic rules of composition shouldnt be allways followed too strictly.
What i look for in a photo(art):
1) is there something intresting in the pic like a story, intresting people, whats happening etc (these trigger the feeling side for the pic)
2) composition
3) technical side, like right shutterspeed, f-number, right exposure, right saturation(for each color channel), flash usage, contrast or good edits if its edited photo
For snapshots its enough if the pic has composition and technical side well done, naturally intresting things are intresting to watch too
