I was wondering why my picture came out this way.
I took it with an auto mode [which I'm assuming was the reason somehow]
I took it the night I got my camera so that's why I was using all auto-modes.

1. Why is the moon kind of "cloudy" like that? There were a few clouds out, but not that bad.
2. Why is the sand orange/red? There were orangish colored lamps on the boardwalk, but that was a good 30-35+ feet away.

Heres the picture I'm talking about:

F = 5, and shutter speed 2 sec, that is why I think the moon is like that and why the color is like that.
I think you should edit the white balance. :)

Yeah I'm still getting used to the camera, I'm going to try using all of the manual modes and none of the auto modes from now on.

I don't like editting photos :\
For one I just think it's kinda cheating :P and two I suck at using photoshop
So I probably couldn't even change the white balance if I wanted to lol

White balance is not cheating. ;)
Try get Lightroom 2, it is really good at "neutral" editing.

But I do not know what to do after it. It cost like 348 USD where I am from. I do not know what it will cost for you. ;)

learn this and use faster shutterspeed, if its that dark u need more than 400 iso, allso u need to use lower f-number. With 400 iso that 2second is same than half second with 1600 iso, with f-1.8 instead of f-5 you could use 0.0625sec and you wouldnt get blurred pic caused by handshake.
