try to get the pic from direction so that mic is little as possible infront of singers head as possible. If you shoot a guitarist or basist take the pics from side where the bottom of guitar is, not from the side of the guitars neck. pic where the singer is like that and u want to show the bass, imo vertical pic would work better and with atleast 35mm, so there isnt eny distortion. Allso you shouldnt take pics where other band memebers are behind others, like on this pic, either single person portraits or something where more people fit in better. Some venues wont let you use flash, in those places you can only dream about taking pics with some kit lens, if its not REALLY well lit place. So you need a prime lens with low f-number to get more light in, a 50mm 1.8 is great for cropped sensor if you want cheap lens with good focal lenght for concerts/portraits and wanna shoot in low light. 85mm 1.8 would be better tho, but i think it costs more and im not sure if sony/minolta makes them. Take atleast 250 pics during the show and shoot raw

sounds kinda weird to ask tips for music performance from photo forum imo, especially if u want it from one snapshot with flash that tells nothing about the show. Imo video and musicians forum would be better way

Wrong forum imo...
This is the photography forum, where photographers take pictures and expose them and seek improvement of their photography skills....

If i post a picture of a flower, I will not ask what to do to make it grow better, but how to improve the picture itself...
I don't know if you understand my point of view, but this should be posted in the entertainement forum...

I agree.

The PHOTOGRAPHER who would be taking photos of you should be the one asking where to take photos from.
Seriously, stop posting photos taken by others and asking for advise on them.

e/ I lol'd @ the flower part haha.

uh... Maybe that photographer is not a member of this forum so she was just asking for some advice on behalf of him/her?
I can't agree more with Antichrist. The photographer should at least have got a clear shot of your face and maybe even tried to stand on higher ground.

The point of this forum is for the PHOTOGRAPHER to get help.
She is asking for performance advice (Which is clearly stated in the very first sentence of her first post)

Besides, asking for help on behalf of somebody else is just as bad as posting somebody else's work. (That photo was taken by somebody else, the person who took it
should be the one looking for help.)
