Well I am interested in buying that lens used because of the low price being offered to me but I haven't found many reviews on that lens at least on those more well known sites so I am wondering if any of you guys have ever heard of it or even used it and what's your opinion on that lens. I am really just interested in the macro feature of that lens ^^

eny of those zooms with so large focal lenght to min to max is bad quality, especially at the tele end. When sigma says macro on some lens, it doesent mean its a real macro lens, its just some marketing bull shit thing when some of the lenses has bit shorter minimum focus distance. Imo if you want tele lens, get a sigma 70-200 2.8 or canon 70-200 4, for wide end just use the lens you got now and 50mm lens u allready got.

hmm I have only managed to find this tiny piece of information about the macro feature of that lens:

The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 50cm at all focal lengths and is equipped with a macro mechanism for close-up photography at 300mm telephoto, allowing a reproduction ratio of 1:3.

So you mean it's not worth spending 280 CAD on such lens just to use it for occasional macro shots? Well I will definitely not use it for any kind of landscape or as a telephoto lens because it got no IS and is known to be really bad at long focal lengths.

1:3 isnt really a macro, 1:1 is and i think u get atleast as good or better macro shots with some macro kit lenses on some prime lens

I use lenses that don't have IS.... you don't necessarily need lenses with IS JUST to be able to take landscape or other photos.

Well don't get me wrong I would love to get one of those ultra wide lenses for landscape shots even though they don't have IS but I will only use it mostly during the day time or when I decide to bring a tripod with me. I guess I have been spoiled by my IS lens because so far I have been able to just walking around freely during the night and take pictures with quite slow shutterspeed and still get reasonably sharp photos and that's something not even the great 50mm f/1.8 could do lol. Believe me you will know what I am talking about when you have got yourself a lens with image stabilizer. :)

I stil think that F3.5-6.3 is way too much! I know you will use it in the daytime, but still.

Yeah I know what you mean especially when taking macro photos... Well I guess my interest in that lens has died quite fast haha
It would probably be better if I just save that money on that ultra wide lens I have been wanting to get for quite some time lol.

Btw does any of you guys know a cheap macro lens? I have read some reviews on those made by Canon but they all cost too much so I am kinda wondering if Sigma or Tamron make any good and cheap macro lenses. The thing is I think I will stick to landscape photography for now but sometimes it's also nice to take some macro photos as well course they seem to be quite interesting and nifty so I am kinda looking to get a cheap macro lens for occasional use.
