hey!

I would like to buy a polarizing filter... well, I went to a shop and there were some about 40 euros and some about 90, some "digital" and some "analouge" polarizing filters I'm pretty confused - can you help me? oh and they also said that the "circular" filter was better.. ?!

I have a cheap Hoya cir-polarizing filter. It works.

i suggest cheap hoya circular polarizer or if you want better quality filter that lets a bit more light thru it get hoya hd polarizer, cheap one works great allso tho. Remember that you need a circrular polarizer(cir-pl), not linear polarizer. Digital and analogue filters are some names for filters that iv never heard, since digital and analogue slrs use same filters.. Analogue might mean linear polarized, im not sure.

Circular polarizer, because it can turn (Circular) so you're not stuck with the gradient at the top when your shooting in portrait mode. (You will be able to spin it so it's at the sky, not the side of the flash)

circular because af doesent work with linear . Spinning the polarizer you can adjust what direction the polarization works from. There is no gradient in cir-pl filters even tho it might look like it because it doesent eliminate light from all directions

are you sure its not just that it looks like gradient because it doesent remove polarization from all directions? Imo gradient is when you add darkening layer to the filter, like on nd-filter half of it is made with -2 and other half -4, so that you can block out more light from half frame.

The filter gradients feather goes from top to bottom, and you can spin it so you can have it from bottom to top, or left to right. Depends what style you're shooting and where the sky is. (Or water sometimes)

however, I bought a hoya filter for 40euros, hope it works fine
