I have a project due for my digital photography class and the theme is 'in the red" where red has to be the dominant color in the picture,

anyone have any ideas on what I could photograph?

Hm... what do you have that's red that's around the house? Could be anything from walls, to furniture, to a table cloth... or an ornament? This one seems like a hard one...

Apples?
A car?
Stop sign?
Lights?

Dog sniffing a fire hydrant...
Fire truck...
Painted fingernails...
Traffic light...

Take a walk outside, you'll be surprised on how much red is omnipresent... :)

Go at the "object" in a different kind of view... get more close to it than any other person would, go at it with a weird angle that chances are people wouldn't view it at that angle.. umm just do it differently... snap a few pics, see how they turn out (feel free to post them here!). Takes more than 1 picture to get the right capture sometimes :)

If it's for school - I'd try and stay away from the "normal" pictures. If your going to take a picture of a stop sign (which is probably going to be over-done) try to make it unique in some way! :)

just a random idea popped into my head, not sure if you want to use it - maybe a pic of a person wearing some type of red clothing up against a brick wall. I have this cool picture in my head that I think would look interesting! :P

good luck!

Blood.
Red Ferrari lol.
Red sunset.
"The Red River" if you live near it...which I doubt lol but still an idea.

Now, if I had this assignment...here's what I would do:

Put a bunch of random colored cloths hanging on a clothes line outdoors.
Have ONE red colored piece of clothing hanging either to the left of the frame, or the right.
Then, shoot from a low perspective, getting the sky (With some clouds) in the shot.

In post processing, use a selective coloring technique and make everything black and white except for the red article of clothing.
