Well when I was at the local camera store earlier to buy myself a new lens I saw they are having a Velbon carbon fiber tripod with a head on sale for 299 bucks so of course I got interested and asked the sales dude and the only bad thing he told me is that it's not a very well known brand and if it brakes it would take at least a week to get it fixed blahblahblah. Of course I kinda hesitated because of the low price and the quite unknown brand name so I am kinda wondering if any of you guys have heard or even had one of their tripods before and if you like them.

I think the one I saw there was this one:

Velbon Sherpa PRO CF-537 Carbon fibre

    * Includes: STONE BAG, HOOK
    * Quick Shoe: QB-4X

Minimum Height: 26cm
Folded Height: 63.5cm

I thought that Velbon was a well-known brand. :blink:
Actually I have a 25 - 30 years old Velbon tripod, and it works perfect! :)
But I do not know the quality of their products they produce now.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Didn't you tell me awhile ago that you never use a tripod and that I should just strap my camera to one of my legs instead of spending hundreds of bucks on a carbon fiber tripod? :p :p ^^

So I guess it's quite well known in Europe eh?
Well it sounds like they make some durable tripods course you are still using a 20+ yrs old one :)

Yeah, I guess you are right and that tripod weighs almsot nothing even though it looks HUGE with all it's legs extended. hehe the sales dude told me that they have tried to sell that tripod for over a year now and nobody has bought it, yet so I think I am going to wait a lil while until they have a sale on the other tripods as well so I'll be able to do some serious comparisons, price wise and quality wise.

lol! Well... I am not really sure what I should spend my money on right now course there are soooooo many things I want to get and I don't know which I should get first. When it comes to camera equipment I don't know if I should save some money on a new lens or spend it on a tripod but of course sooner or later I am going to get both... When it comes to buying stuff I tend to be very fickle I could either buy random stuff all of the sudden or wait a very long time hesitating and check around. I guess that's another weird habit of mine lol.
