But I think the procedure is more automatic based on machine than at the time the film was made.

I found the part where they carve in the letters interesting - haha. Crazy how much it costs, tho. I spose this is why some lenses are expensive?

I saw this one on TV Discovery HD quite some time ago, probably before I was as into photography as I am today.

Wow! cool video! and it also explains why those lenses are so freaking expensive and it's kinda amazing how time consuming it is to make a lens.

ahh that was incredible.
just learned about heat treatment and annealing of materials in my fall term.

Really impressive on how much effort goes into a perfect glass shape.
