Playin with the cat, yes there's an evil shadow, cause I used a bigger lens, with a built in flash xD. But they are amusing. Some I did put effort into composition and what not, except the shadow of the lens.

Wow those are some awesome photos of a cat lol. It's amazing how you seemed to be able to press the shutter button at the right moment. Great timing!
hmm say is he used to very bright lights? I mean when I used the flash on the cat I used to have she would either blink and kinda get upset sometimes because I blinded her but your brother's cat doesn't seem to mind lol.
It's a very beautiful cat that's for sure and he seems to love that string lol. Well I am not sure about this cat but I know some cats love those tiny stuffed animals too usually in the shape of a rat. The cat I used to have used to fall asleep with it in it's paws and sometimes even hug it as if it's a teddy bear lol. The last one looks so funny almost like it got scared all of the sudden hahaha. It's like he was surprised during it's attack and had to back away all of the sudden with this terrified look on his face :D. I am sure he has a very interesting personality as well.

Well why didn't you use your Speedlite? You could have used a diffuser so the light wouldn't be too strong or just simply angle the flash upwards so it would bounce off the ceiling but I guess it would probably be impractical having a huge ass flash attached to your camera when you were playing with that cat. Anyway really nice pictures and I wish I could have taken such beautiful and amusing portraits of a cat lol.

She's female and yes, she has a different and unique personality. She doesn't seem to mind the lights at all, she acts like it's not even there. I didn't use my speedlite because I was using one hand on the camera at times, and it's a little heavy. I wasn't going for pro, but for fun.

Oh! Ooops! haha sorry I forgot that she is a female lol. Yeah, it would probably be a lil bit too heavy with a flash attached while using your huge ass lens too lol. Sometimes I do find my camera being too heavy for taking pictures with just one hand and those I actually did manage to take with one hand would turn out blurry because my hands was shaking too much hahaha maybe I just need to go to the gym and get some muscle lol. Well geez to be honest your photo are as pro as they could get with the equipment you used and the shadows aren't that noticeable. btw I forgot ask what was she looking at in #2 and 3? lol Those pictures really make me smile everytime I look at them. I really envy your brother for have got such a lovely cat :).

the lighting is really bad tbh. looks like your pointing your flash right at your subject.

Well I do agree with you that the lighting in some of the pictures could be improved but I think those pictures were not meant to be serious art just for amusement and if you are a cat person you would definitely love those pictures :p. Btw, do you know how hard it really is to take some good pictures like those of a cat that was constantly moving very fast :p. I really tried to take some good pictures of the cat I used to have with my old point and shoot and most of the time I was not able to take a sharp and clear picture of it lol well that also had something to do with my very limited photography skills lol. Out of hundreds of pictures I took of her I think I only managed to get like one half decent and sharp image of her while she was moving violently lol. http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff339/SpammersHeaven/OldPhotos/cat02.jpg

She was playing with the string, you can see it somewhat in the far bottom corner.

umm just a question out of curiosity and I hope it's not waaay off topic lol. Is that cat very fickle? I mean like one moment she would look and seem like she's lazy and tired and all of the sudden she would jump up and start chasing the string or even scratch you when you are petting her lol. I know some cats absolutely do not like to be touched around the belly area when they are laying down maybe because they just felt vulnerable lol.
