Planning on getting one used , Canon digital SLR 350D<---
Want to see what its capable of...im not much of a photographer, but im going to France next month
and i want to learn how to take pictures and want to see what this camera is capable of

Some pics taken by that camera would help a bunch

my friend has one and we tested it versus my old 400d and they were realli similar, couldnt see eny difference atleast on high iso handling. It has 7 focus points only when 400d has 9, allso since its older it has smaller lcd screen, other its really much same as 400d. Imo its a good camera that you can get cheap, but little more you could get 400d, but if smaller screen or focus points doesent matter then its the same, but 350d is cheaper.

just remember that if your new to photography, the camera cant take good pics for you even tho its capable on really good pics. So i suggest you learn to use the camera basics before the trip. Allso meny pics there are post processed in photoshop, allso meny are with way better lenses than the kit lens you will prolly get with the camera

The main improvements from the XT to the XTi that I have is the [arguably ineffective] dust removal, the 2 extra MP, a bigger LCD, and what pushed me over to the XTi, the autofocus system [from the 30D].

If you intend on using f/2.8 and larger lenses, I suggest the XTi or better since the AF system is more tuned for wide aperture lenses. In addition, the difference in price between a used XTi and a used XT will be marginal at best.
