They are well hard to get a picture of, and ill tell you why. First problems is getting them to hold still - then once you've taken the picture using the P mode and evaluative (matrix) metering mode you find that the camera has chosen a ludicrously small aperture and the pictures come out dark due to the white lambs. So an easy fix to that is to whack ur aperture wide open in M mode and set an appropriate shutter speed, spot metering i found worked ok. Alternativly you can use the AE lock to take an appropriate reading then re-compose and take the shot. Im gonna try and get some better photos this weekend or later on, because their heads may look nice and all but getting them running with their mummy looks pretty cool.

Haha. Yeah it is a really hard job to catch animals!
I use the AV mode or the sports mode. What a noob I am. xD
I really like your shots, the last one is the best! smile.gif
But if aI have to say something I think they are too much close up! Try get more of the lamb.
I will post some seagull in a few moments.

do you not mean Tv mode for fast moving subjects?
there is nothing wrong with Tv anyway because it normally selects the widest aperture possible, in fact some pros use it instead of M because they cant be bothered to switch the aperture all the time.

the pictures are cropped because i didnt want to spoil the full body shots im gonna do next week. I used the one shot focus and single shot drive because i really wanted to try get a portraiture look on the photos instead of an action feel.

Well, I think you can almost every mode you want for moving subjects. You just have to do what is "missing" in the mode, F or shutterspeed.
I think it is cool you the portraiture look instead of the action feel.
