My local camera store is having a sale on Canon cameras and since I have been looking for a decent and small point and shoot camera as some kind of backup to my 40D and something that I can take video clips with so I bought a Canon A570 IS like 15 minutes ago with money I saved for a tripod lol.

I am going to post some pictures later but first I need to find those tiny SD cards that I should have laying around here somewhere lol.

EDIT: It kinda surprises me how small and "plasticy" it feels in my hand lol and even though it actually has a normal viewfinder but it's kinda useless and tiny lol.

haha lol thanks! smile.gif
Hey didn't you say that you don't have your own camera? Maybe you should get one of those too if you can't afford to get a DSLR anytime soon. I only paid a hundred bucks for it ^^ and it got 7.1 Mpixel and Image stabilizer.

I have the a560 somewhere...pretty nice point and shoot for under $200 - too bad it takes AA batteries.

Well you could get rechargeable AA batteries but of course they nowhere as good as those battery packs for DSLR I mean I have taken like 700 pictures with my 40D and have had it for almost two months now and I have only recharged it once ohmy.gif. I remember my old point and shoot HP Photosmart 945 I think I had to recharge the batteries after like 100 pics -.- what a pos lol

Here is a picture of my EOS 40D taken with my new p&s at ISO 800 lol. As expected the noise level is extremely high but of course low light pictures are not intended to be taken with a p&s anyway. I will post some more test shots tomorrow when I am going to take some outdoor daylight pictures with both of my cameras just to do some comparisons lol.

another picture taken with the built-in flash

yeah the battery lid does looks a bit fragile but I will try to be more careful with it lol.

The reason I bought it is because I kinda want a backup camera and a camera that I can play around with or bring with me to places that aren't very uh friendly for those larger and more expensive cameras I mean after all it's only a hundred bucks lol.
