I have finally figured out how to take some reversed macro pictures and after taking almost 100 pics those are the only pics that turned out decent and quite sharp.
The first few are a bit underexposed because I held my camera very close to the object so the light from flash was blocked by the lens and they were taken with a very wide aperture.

What do you mean? Are the first five pictures that underexposed? They look quite detailed on my monitor.
or do you mean that they were too close so you could only see the scratches on the surface of that coin? lol

The first two, I know what they are. But if it were someone else, they'd have trouble maybe.

haha yeah. That's because I used a very wide aperture tongue.gif.
the other pictures were taken after I did what miss Tomes suggested lol.

Wow, I really like #4.
If you could get more of the antlers into focus, that would be excellent, I think.

Yeah I know some of those pictures would have been awesome if I actually could see what I was shooting through the viewfinder lol. Maybe I could try LiveView the next time that is if Liveview works in manual mode.
As I said I had to take like several either all black or all white or very blurry pictures before getting a few sharp and good ones.

You don't use manual focus when your lens isn't even attached tongue.gif

All you have to do is move closer or farther away to get it to focus.

So did you do the same as I did just held the lens tightly against the camera body and take lots of random pictures trying to get a sharp picture with decent composition? hope you don't mind all the questions lol.

Pretty much lol. I am tempted to try Spencer's method, where you actually attach the lens, backwards. I found a body cap biggrin.gif
