Well I am kinda interested in buying the Manfrotto 190MF3 mag fiber tripod because of it's very light weight and the seemingly very tough material it is built out of and of course the low price. I have tried to find reviews on that tripod but without success so I am wondering if any of you guys have or had it or have heard anything about it. Or if you think that I should get a better one please post your suggestions smile.gif. I will mainly use it for landscape and I doubt that I will get a huge ass telephoto lens anytime soon so the 4kg max load on that tripod should be adequate for a EOS 40D + a wide angle lens. Oh and of course I will have to buy a ballhead for it too but I have absolutely no clue on which ballhead I should get so any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Your going to want to buy a ballhead/tripod combo if you want both at once, or if your on a budget.
Ballheads cost about $90+ to $500

My ballhead was almost $120 and the tripod was 300.

I wish I knew you could buy combos before I bought them.

Oh I didn't know that you could buy combos either but of course I will get the head together with the tripod course the tripod itself is quite useless with a head biggrin.gif
I guess I will have to ask those salesperson at my local camera store about a good ballhead to go with the tripod sleep.gif

why spend so much on a tripod? there is normally somthing to rest ur camera on anyway like a wall. all you're paying for is the build quality and the name. and to be honest some cheap tripods are pretty sturdy. save your money and buy a budget-midrange tripod then spend 2 dollars on buying a peice of cloth to protect your camera from scratches when you sit it down on a wall.

Carbon Fiber PROb Manfrotto tripods weight hardly anything happy.gif

You want a good tripod.

You could buy a cheap one with plastic legs, but then what if it tips over while your perhaps in the grand canyon shooting
and your camera just fell off a cliff...gone.

You need sturdiness happy.gif

+ There is NO shelves to put your camera on while your out in the wild lol!

This is the reason: http://www.bythom.com/support.htm
I have seen some really really cheap tripods but from what I have heard and read that they are unstable and the legs get bent after awhile rolleyes.gif. I think the cheapest tripod I have ever seen is a tiny plastic tripod at one of those Dollarstores biggrin.gif I kinda wonder if my camera would crush it like a bug if I mount it on that tripod lol.

I hope you were not being sarcastic about the walls or garbage can because so far I have actually been using those while taking some of those really long exposure pictures but most of the time I just can't find a good wall or a garbage can to put my camera on tongue.gif.

Ok..... I think this guy is drunk or high on something unsure.gif rolleyes.gif but then again it's Friday! and everyone should get drunk laugh.gif

Your leg shakes dude...You can't take 30 second photos with a shaky leg...

Even if you can stand stiller than anybody else in the world, the censor inside still vibrates.

Tripods are one of the best things to invest in if your serious about photography.

Don't ever try to argue with a drunk person biggrin.gif.
Obviously he is either drunk or just fooling around which I don't really mind tongue.gif
I mean tying a camera to your leg is just laughable and I would like to see him doing that laugh.gif

Yeah. I have one and it is very lovely to have when you take photos at lowlight areas without wanting the flash and notr want noise because of high ISO.
