Hiya

Im interested in a telephoto lens for my 450D. I was thinking of a second hand 70-200L f4 USM or any other suggestions you have. If you dont think 2nd hand is a good choice, please tell me what is a good widlife/sports lens, with a reasonable price tag.

Cheers!

Yes, best choice is a second hand 70-200 f4L
If you end up getting something crappy you will eventually want to upgrade.
Buy good, buy once.

aww lol I actually saw a second hand EF 70-200 f/4 L yesterday at the local camera store and it looks to be in perfect condition with no scratch or anything and for only 550 CAD ohmy.gif
I was really tempted to buy it but I had other priorities sad.gif

well dunno about your other priorities but you missed out on a gem of a lens.
I have the 70-200 2.8 is and I am selling it, maybe I'll get the 200 f2 IS (so damn expensive though).
I just hope they update the 135L this PMA

Well I am just not sure what I would have done with a telephoto lens I mean mostly I take pictures of landscapes and occasionally portraits but I may will go and watch one or two football games during the summer lol. I know it was a very nice deal but I only had 800 bucks and for them I had to buy a desk, a decent chair to go with it, a new monitor and a camera bag tongue.gif. They also had a used EF 75-300 USM lens for 150 bucks but it seems to be a rather crappy lens. Well I may will buy a new lens when I get my next paycheck laugh.gif.

The same lens I have been using since I got my first EOS 40D the EFS 17-85 IS USM. It's a great all round lens and thanks to the IS I can use very slow shutter speeds hand held all the way down to 1/4 seconds when my hands aren't too shaky lol.

I'm thinking I want to buy one of these lenses later on, of course used. biggrin.gif Seems much more cheaper, and they last a long time.
