I kinda got this idea from an old thread posted in another photography forum and since I've been eating out almost every single day for the last 3 months I have kinda started to pay more attention to how my food look like on the plates or whatever so I decided to take a picture of my supper two days ago and actually I had almost the same thing earlier today lol. The sandwich in the picture below is a roast beef sandwich with a bowl of not so bad tasting beef and vegetable soup and it was taken at Robin's only like a block away from where I live. I think the lighting was quite bad so they may look not as good as they tasted lol.

It would be interesting to see what you guys usually have for supper or lunch so everyone is welcome to post a picture or two tongue.gif.

Yep... here's my meal, pretty tasty, I know. So don't be jealous.

Pretty noisy picture, thanks to the damned ISO 1600, but I didn't feel like bringing out a tripod.

lmao! hahaha I was actually staring at that picture for like 10 seconds and trying to figure out what it is tongue.gif
Well I guess either you are on diet or that picture was taken AFTER you ate your supper tongue.gif but very nice and cool looking plate though tongue.gif

btw it doesn't look that noisy to me and it would be really funny if you actually used a tripod to just take a picture of an empty plate laugh.gif tongue.gif

It's just fuzzy. If there was more "black" in the picture, you might see it more. But actually I am quite happy with that picture, the way it turned out. Too bad it's so boring.

lmao! It's boring because you forgot to take a picture BEFORE you ate all the food on it lol. Btw do you have High ISO noisy reduction turned on on your camera? That is if your camera has that function. It would usually help quite a lot when taking pictures above ISO 800, I think.

Hmm...... nooooooo clue, I think it does, but I can't remember where I found it on the camera.

yeah! if you intend on shooting loads of ISO 800-1600 jpeg images then turn it on. If you shoot RAW keep it off because it slows down the continuous shooting mode and doesnt reduce noise.

it should be in the custom functions menu.

I did a search on Google and found out that XTI probably doesn't have high ISO noise reduction sad.gif only Long exposure noise reduction.

Quote
Long exposure noise reduction The Rebel XTi/400D's Noise Reduction menu has three options: Off, On and Auto. When set to On, long exposure noise reduction will be applied whenenever the exposure is 1 second or longer. When set to Auto, the camera will analyse the level of noise in exposures between 1 and 30 seconds and apply long exposure noise reduction only if it deems it would be beneficial to the picture. The Rebel XTi/400D locks up the camera for an amount of time equal to the exposure time while it applies long exposure noise reduction.

Is everyone in here too shy to post pictures of the food you eat? tongue.gif

I had almost the same thing for summer earlier so I decided not to take a picture of it lol. BUT I did buy a bunch of donuts this time even though those donuts aren't really my favorite but they are still good and I had 3 of them as dessert laugh.gif
