Well as the others have pointed out #1 is the choice if you want to put a decent picture in your graduation book. The background is just amazing! Kinda makes me want to be there NOW! lol
I think for some reason those point and shoot usually produce overexposed images in broad daylight at least that's the case with the pictures I took with my old p&s.
btw which EOS film camera did you use when you took #1?
Actually I haven't taken any of those pics, the first one did my father and the second was shot by my sister... I gotta ask which Eos type this was

I've only got a Nikon F65, but I haven't really got any clue about analouge photography
