I went out for a walk earlier because it's really nice outside today and I don't have to work until later tonight but I kinda forgot how cold it can get when the sun is shining so the one hour walk was more or less an agony even though I was wearing a lot of clothes and a pair of gloves which don't really help while holding a camera all the time. Again I was surprised by the fact that my camera didn't die because of the extreme low temperature course I have heard soooo many times that the batteries die very quickly when it's cold outside Anyway! lol here are the pics and any kind of constructive criticism are welcome

I learned my lesson that taking pictures in broad day light and facing the sun I would need very fast shutterspeeds which up until now I rarely use because I used to shoot during the night or late afternoon.


This is one of the few close up pictures I have taken so far and I think I really should take more pictures like this with blurred background and all that lol

I've always been fascinated by those very long back alleys you see quite often in North America.


This is another reason besides the cold that make people want to drive a car

Praise the Lord! Even though I am not religious I still like to take pictures of churches.

I wanna get out and take some today but it's still snowing like crazy out!! I want it to stop.

haha well just make sure you dress warm AND wear something on your head like a hoody or something.
It depends on how cold it is in Calgary but just so you know if you plan on being outside for more than 20 minutes one pair of gloves won't help ya lol
I think that's another advantage of having a large camera body because even when you wear gloves you can still get a good grip of it and press buttons

Anyway here is a "fake" b&w photo of one of the pictures above and I added small amount of noise to make it look retro




I almost laughed when I saw this board outside the church lol but I was too much of a coward to rearrange those letters so it would say something funny

wow. Thanks guys! I mean ladies lol. Glad you like that picture. I knew the moment I saw that tree branch and the sun in the background that it had the potential to turn into a good picture.
lol! Well it's too bad the church and the board outside it is quite far from where I live AND it's freaking cold outside otherwise I would probably go back there in the middle of the night and change the letters and take a picture of it
But I guess the "PEASE OIN US... HRS MA E E..." is funny enough lmao!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this picture when I created this thread yesterday because it turned out very bright for obvious reason lol I guess this weird looking statue would have looked much better in the late afternoon when the light from the sun isn't very strong...
