Hey guys,

I'm wanting to buy a dslr, and I'm interested in hearing all your opinions.
Right now I don't have the monetary means for anything that I want, but I will most definitely be getting a job over the summer (yes, I'll wait).

I'm looking at the Nikon D300, which looks and sounds very impressive.

But before I commit to anything, I just want to hear what you guys think.
Tell me your opinions on the D300, if you have any, or if you have suggestions for a camera, better overall, or for my means as an amateur.
As well, I would like some info on lenses too!

I've actually heard nothing but good reviews on the D300.

Well I don't about the image quality and ISO performance of that camera but it's 51 point AF system is the same used in Nikon D700 and D3 and it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than anything Canon got in their dslrs

D300 is better than any of our cameras here on jsp except Astrogany and his Mark-III.

I bet that d300 is hella good camera, but you could get even better cheaper if you would buy it used.

I've still got a D50 :/

Ah well, don't use it much anymore, and 6MP is more than enough to get a good A4 sized print in perfect quality..

yeah, antichrist is the only one with a markIII at the moment, I got myself a 5DmkII... (spills a tear...)
