Okay, so, now... I have a P&S, but it's a horrid one. Like, just horrid, it's probably five years old and you can't take a low light shot for your life with it. And, now I don't really like to spend my money, so I have about $500, from doing nothing. And now I want something convenient to carry around, not like my father's XTi. So, I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I could. And, I don't want the shutter lag w/ pressing the button (I hate that). And it would be nice if it took really good macro shots, because that's what I like most =]. And I like Sony, any one know whether it might be a good choice? The cyber-shot models ofc.

I have the 430... It's good, I don't know anything else, but it seems to work fin for me. =] You're much better than me though =[.

How can you have a 430 without a camera?

I think you should look for a Canon PowerShot G9.

lols. I've heard that the G9 actually gives you better bang for your buck tongue.gif But what do I know. They're awesome cameras anyways happy.gif Also, check dpreview they got awesome p&s comparisons happy.gif" Just scout out some cameras that look reasonable and than search their names and read the reviews smile.gif Good luck, fun that you wanna start taking pics! wink.gif

G10 is good but not the best. At least not according to Dpreview:

Conclusion: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q408enthusiastgroup/page13.asp

Panasonic LX3 seems to have much better high ISO performance.

Hmm, I'm really liking the PowerShot SX110 IS. For the price it seems really good. It says that it's average at everything. What's that mean noise wise? At low ISO, will it be fine?

Go for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5, its cheap and very good.

Canon Powershot G10 is great, but it is very expensive smile.gif
