ok so im 13years old
i have no real money
but i wanna buy a camera
so should i get one of those super cheap ones? or would they not even be worth it?
im looking at one pretty cheap one and it says it has 640 x 480 pixels
is that decent? i just need one to take casual pictures of my cat so im not aiming for anything fancy

What's your budget? And do you perhaps have some parents who would like to lend a hand in the purchase?

I honestly have no idea what would cost $40 that is digital. The cheapest decent compacts today are around $200 ...

You can always get a Holga and some 120 film and go vintage. B&H has Holgas for $36 right now.

they even have some thats 10$ only but thats probably cause it sucks

Yeah, you won't get much digitally for that but now if you were to get an old film thing like Holga or something and just go vintage until you can save up ... otherwise good luck, maybe someone else here has some ideas. Check out craigslist ...

A cell phone can do that ... if you get a cell phone you can do the equivalent, except most cell phones these days have even higher res than that ...
