I took a 10 minute break from shoveling the driveway after it snowed all day yesterday, then turned to freezing rain at night, then more snow in the morning...
It was so beautiful outside I decided to take some pictures...
Time was 4:30 pm, location, South Shore of Montreal, Canada, just as the sun was about to disappear...
I took one without flash, and one with flash.... wow.... I started taking more and more with flash after that!!!
Camera used is a Canon Powershot A570.
No photoshop involved.
The only modification to the pictures was to decrease the size...

Without flash:

With flash

Ok, thanks to TheBlackRose66, I found the macro function on my camera, but couldn't get as close as I was hoping to...
These are yesterday's pics, taken around 4 pm, cloudy out but still light enough... I think the results with the flash would have been more spectacular with sunset colors like the previous pictures, but it was -10 and windy, and I litterally froze my hands to get those pictures taken...... I didn't want to go back out after that!!!

The 3rd is the best in my opinion because of the Composition and the way it stands out on the background.

If I can recall I believe the camera you are using might have a "Super Macro" function am I correct?
Did you use it?

I have very recently started using a digital camera, and I'm the kind to skip reading the instruction manual.....
So I still have no clue if I have a macro function on it, and if so, I would like to know where it is and how to use it!!!
Cause a lot of my pictures turn out out of focus when I stand too close.....

Well, I did a bit of research and did not find a Super Macro function on your camera.
but I did find the Macro function (Which all cameras have)

You will need to find the small flower shaped icon somewhere on the camera, menu or mode dial.
Putting it in this mode will only be temporary until you turn it off or turn off the camera.

Macro function will allow your camera to focus at subjects close up, (ex. 5-45cm is what I found on your camera)
And will give good details at closer ranges.
