It is almost the same gear as I have. But the tripot is much new than my tripod. (I have my dads old one!) tongue.gif

And I will get the remote switch soon.

I think it is a good beginner set. smile.gif

cool smile.gif

is there nothing you would change at all, or do you consider this a 'perfect' beginner set?

Well. It is my first D-SLR, and I think it is perfect. I am learning the basics, and trying to be better every day. It is good enough for me right now.

Why the remote switch? i dont think you will really need it with this setup. And i didnt hear a lot of good stories about the 18-55 kitlens, so you might want to consider buying the body with a different lense, thats what i did when i bought my first lense.

Good luck! wink.gif

didnt i have a remote switch in the first place? tongue.gif

hmm well loads of people said its an ok starter lens, and if you buy it with the camera you get it for 1/3 of the price of buying it seperate to the body.
i think i will stick with getting the 18-55mm IS kit lens with the camera, then maybe buy a better lens when i start to need one

can someone explain in their own words what the USM in canon lens' actually does, and if its worth getting a lens with it in, or getting a lens with just IS, or with both.

which is the best lens?

-Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS Lens
-Canon EF 55-200mm f4.5-5.6 USM II Lens
-Canon EF 75-300mm f4-5.6 USM III Lens

e/ oh and which of the lens above would be best for action photography, like capturing a bird, or fast car, etc
