and buy one new(used) one. Got pretty good deal since i only had to pay around 1000€ for it after selling old cameras.

I wanted to buy this now that i got some extra money and if i get to school i wont be having money to spend like this for allmoast 4 years or more if i cant find good job right away(and i prollly wont), soon i will have to start saving some money incase i get to that school. If it wasnt this kind of situation i would think its bit stupid to buy camera like that since im no pro. First i was thinking about 50mm 1.2, but i counted that i could get this + 50mm 1.4 for about same amount of money, so i desided to buy this instead, since better iso handling will be more usefull now that this fucked up time of the year has started(pic is with 6400 iso). Im not sure if i should trade my 28 1.8 for the 50mm or just buy it from tax refounds i get 4th december, since im not that keen about wide angles, but it might get handy at times..

I hope i will get to shoot with it alot soon.

Thanks. I actually found 3 used mark3s from the same shop(and few on other), this was the cheapest and price tag of 2095€ was mainly the only reason i went and bought this instead of the 50 1.2. Seems like there is alot of them around.

yea me and astragony bezt now!!!!

lol thats weird. but still thats like 3500 us dollars or something -.-
so I guess you shoot alot action shots or something and need the speed? otherwise I think 5D mk2 would be a better choice, at least when it comes to the price tag lol

I was thinking about 5d mkII allso, it would have been just few hundred more(2350€), it would have had full frame sensor and better iso handling, but this has better low light af performance, built like a rock, weather sealed(5d has some too but i think its more like on 40d) and 1d is a 1d. Im sure that new 5d will have good color rendering, but i highly doubt it will be as good as 1d. Allso that 5dmkII is based on the old 5d too much, so it will have its disadvantages on af and some other things. Allso i dont want so meny pixels, they just increase file size and work slower on computer when editing.

hahahah!

great buy and great price!

The camera is TEH sex. The handling is superb.

The 5DmkII is a nice toy but it's got crappy AF and just doesn't even match the 1D for ruggedness.

You did good keeping you 28mm, it's awesome on 1.3

I love my 50L but I wish it was a 40mm 1.2 instead (and no, I don't want the 35L).

Good luck with the beast.

i want 43mm 1.4 for same price as 50 1.4 dry.gif

i havent desided if i should keep the 28mm yet, since i havent bought that 50mm yet, but i think ill keep the 28mm. 24-70 would be really nice for its weather seals and i wouldnt need that 28 prime at all then, but i want 50mm prime and it would cost too much to get both.

Maybe, just maybe i could buy the 24-70(would get used for 895 euros(around 600 if id sell my 28mm)) and just settle for that and my 85 1.8. But i doubt that since i like primes too much and 85 is a portrait lens mainly and i want all around prime(28 was perfect with 1.6 crop). With 24-70 as main lens it would be real heavy and big setup with the 1d to carry all the time. With 6400 iso f-2.8 just bearly might do it at winter time, but dunno

I had the 24-70, it's a STELLAR lens.

I sold it though and got the 17-40.

The lens is really heavy and is a pain in the ass to lug around. I just like primes too much to sacrifice the best focal lengths to a "slow" 2.8 zoom.

At the moment I got the 17-40, the 50 1.2 and the 70-200 2.8 is, maybe when the 24L II comes out I'll grab one and dump the 17-40.

The weather sealing is a real biggy to me, I shoot in the rain alot. I would also love a new weather sealed version of the 135L (like a 135L 1.8 is), I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Weather seals would be real big deal for me too, since weather is crap here about half the year, if not raining its snowing.. Bah i would want the weather seals for 50mm, but like 1000€ extra is quite alot for them..
