here

Or if you meant more of a point and shoot camera (not SLR) I would get this one

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-G9-Digital-Stabilized/dp/B000V1VG5G/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1227203055&sr=8-1

or this one

http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Powershot-G10-Digital-Stabilized/dp/B001G5ZTPY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1227203090&sr=1-1

The G9 has a further reach, the G10 has a better wide-angle.

Or just go to the store and find some you like and look up reviews online.

Keep in mind you don't have to spend that much to get a good camera - those are top of the line point and shoot cameras.

how much mega pixel a camera has doesnt really have anything to do with how good it is. in fact sometimes having more pixels could be a disadvantage, at least when it comes to high ISO performance. I think you need to read reviews more than just looking at the specs. specs are just boring data often it would look good but may not be so in the real life.

There are a lot of good reviews on www.dpreview.com

and if you have no idea what certain words mean just check out this glossary: http://www.dpreview.com/learn/?/Glossary/

hehe picking a camera you really want is a time consuming task smile.gif it took me a month to find a dslr I wanted

uh im not saying you need to get pro or buying a pro camera. I was just telling you that finding a camera you like may take time and energy.
if you dont plan on to get serious with photography or dont want to have it as a hobby then maybe a simple point and shoot will be fine for you.
anyway good luck finding a camera smile.gif

A good place to start would be the cameras I recommended. You can look up reviews on them and see sample images. This will give you an idea of what a point and shoot can do. You can compare those to sample images from the XTi or XSi or XS, which are all SLR cameras. Then you can look at cheaper point and shoots to see what advantages the more expensive ones offer. You may find that you don't have to spend 500 Euros to get what you want.
