hey guys n girls.
i just saw that d2jsp got a photo-section *gg
i thought maybe not all of you know the relatively new Exilim Fh20 from Casio.

i bought it this bike-season. well i bought it ONLY for bikeing. its my main-activity in summer tongue.gif

Its the follow-up model from the EX-F1, which was more expensive, but a bit faster. (but it shot worse pictures)
the Fh20 is customized for the joe public. easier handling and some stuff. above all, the price is about the half.
but most importantly, its a highspeed cam:
- 40 fps continuous shooting
- up to 1000 frames per second, filming a video (very bad quality)
-> 420 fps, which is like medium youtube-quality
-> and the choice between 30 and 210 fps while filming. means, u start a film, and while ure filming u can choose between normal record and slowmo @210fps. in this mode its like good youtube quality.

the normal record is in hd-quality. 720 pix.

some detailed additions will follow. and if u want to know something, just ask.

i uploaded some videos and pics, so u can have a insight what the cam can do, when u go bike-ing (lol)... well ok thats the only thing i filmed with the cam tongue.gif
but the highspeed features of course are especially interesting for sport-shots. thats why i bought it.

ok here we go with the pics. hope it fits well in here.
the links to the videos are on my homepage server.u gotta download em. will post em below.

please dont cry for the extremely large pix-size. i want u to show the pics uncut.
only thing i resized in one picture are the serial exposure.
-> edited. ok they were really to large. fixed em all to 1200x900.

Macro shot 1cm distant from a bottle.

ok here some details bout the cam I noticed so far.

- no intern battery-pack. it needs 4 AA cells. included are 4 normal batteries. they were empty immediatly lol.
i bought some highend rechargeable batteries from varta @2700 mAh. they're incredible.
well its not so nice to put the batteries out to charge em. but it makes the cam cheaper. the old model got an intern pack. but well.. it costs the double.

- blurred moving objects like bikers :/
maybe i need the correct setup.. i dont know everything bout it yet.
or maybe the shutter speed isnt fast enough. i dont know. guess with a dslr it wont happen.
but i havnt tried a tripod yet. but normally my hand is quiet (is that correctly phrased?^^)

- 20x opticam zoom. very nice.

- easy handling and menu setup.

ok that for the moment. need to sleep.

hope u appreciate my toil = )

So, is it a video camera or a digital camera?

I think this is Photography section, not Videography.

well I think its both. or more like a very high speed camera but from the looks of it the image quality is rather poor

it's a great little machine, would not mind owning one.
Casio is making some pretty sick stuff recently.

BTW it's a superzoom bridge still camera, it just takes awesome video too.

I am getting into video as well, taking advanced courses in after effect ATM.

I sure hope the next 1D takes video...

regarding image quality the 5DmkII KILLS any video camera under 50k $... no kidding.

http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=GetArticleAct&articleID=2326

Too bad it's hard to hold still and has it's limitations regarding AF and usability.

It has a huge sensor and is capable of very low s/n ratio at high ISO.

The problem is that I'm addicted to 1 series now (pro AF, pro weather sealing, lots of customization) ...

Rumors are that the new 1D (presented at PMA) will be a 16mp FF camera with 12fps stills and 1080p video like the 5D tongue.gif

If it's anything close to reality I'm getting one for sure.

lol you must be rich or something. I am sure that new 1D wont be cheap -.-

well I have seen people complaining about the AF sensor in mkII. I dont know much about AF sensors but with 9 points plus 6 assist points it doesnt sound really impressive compared to D300/D700 which got like 51 point af

haha well if I ever going to buy a video camera then mk II may will be the one laugh.gif
