Well for awhile I tried taking photos of people, either random I saw on the streets or friends and after awhile I just gave up because I am too much of a coward and too much of a newbie to take any really good portraits. Here are some of the better ones I've taken. Some were meant to be serious portraits while others are just snapshots.

If you have any suggestions how I could have done better or any kind of criticism just post them in here, dont be shy I wont get upset or anything biggrin.gif

1. Slightly photoshopped

First one = best (by far)
Second one - meh
Third one - ok
Fourth one - ok
Fifth one - bad

In the fifth picture, that woman is way too close up front, and it seems like she was annoyed with you taking a picture of her up so close, like right in her face lol tongue.gif

Other pics, I like looking at different cultures. Like in the first picture, there's that street sign that I dunno what means lol. We don't have signs like that in the U.S. How do you make everything black & white and leave these two people colored? I'd like to learn how to do that with photoshop.

I dont fully understand what you just said. do you mean that I shouldnt have taken portraits of people out in the nature?

do you mean there are significant differences in techniques when taking nature and people photos? well I am aware of that lol and I know I shouldve have used a much wider aperture in some of those pics so there wouldnt be so much distracting background details. well I am still learning and hopefully I will be able to take some good portraits in the future biggrin.gif
