Thank you

One for sure I could go to a store and look at the cameras and try them out..
Unfortunately, I have done that before, and those cameras are so complicated for me, that I don't know what I'm looking at, at all... :(
So I value more the opinion of people using DSLR's on a daily basis and have no interest in me buying this brand or this other brand cause all they want me to do is spend money in their store....

Also, with the types of questions I ask, I give the impression of not knowing anything about photography, but it's the digital technology that I am not familiar with...

I want to be able to just be worrying about the price and knowing exactly what to look for...

-----

ok I tend to look at the Canon choice, for the price and potential lens price for the future...

There are kits available, and for me a telephoto is primordial for what I want to do...

Which is better in your opinion?

Canon EOS Rebel XSi w/18-55 IS & 75-300 USM
12.2 meg. DSLR with 2 Canon Zoom Lenses

Canon EOS Rebel XSi w/18-55mm IS & 55-250mm IS lenses
12.2 meg. DSLR with 2 Image Stabilized Lenses
(50$ more than previous option)

------

Also... is it normal that this camera only offers iso 100 and up? Or did I miss something?
I have iso 80 on my little point and shoot, and used to shoot in iso 60 film...

doesnt really matter.
get the first one if you want 50 more mm
if you want to shoot from farther range.

but to me when i had those lenses i thought they were pretty useless and i rarely used them because i liked to shoot close.

Digital printer? Aren't they all digital? I printed a huge photo, and never used photoshop on it once. :O

I would have answered your previous question but I was unsure

Anyway... Yes it's normal that it only offers ISO 100 and up. It's pretty good I think to have 100 ISO, you normally wouldn't need shorter than that anyway.

About the two cameras, I would prefer the Image Stabilized lenses. It helps with camera shake :)

I see that the other lens there has more zoom (the 75-300m). That's a tough choice!

Even up close it looks perfect, without any distortion.
Maybe you need to start using a higher dpi printer...

and 12 MP relates to 12 inches because you said each pixel is equivalent to an inch in printing.
I'm disagreeing with you.

I didn't get into dpi because not everyone here will have a printer at home capable of printing at a high dpi.

Bold: Where exactly did I say 12mp = 12 inches?

If each pixel equalled an inch, wouldn't that mean a 12mp camera would produce a 12million inch print by what you are saying? lol

Well, what questions do you have in regards to the technology?

With the lens choices above, with the top offer, you are missing 56mm-74mm of range but gaining 251mm-300mm. The other offer is straight out 18-250mm.

I would personally take the 55-250mm IS package. That lens is equivalent to 88mm-450mm and I think IS would be very handy at those long focal ranges. The old rule of thumb is that you should use a shutter speed that is roughly the same as your focal length (to stop shake/blur of course) ie. 50mm = 1/50th.. 85mm = 1/90th... 200mm = 200th... etc etc

And the ISO range.. 100 is fine :) You wouldn't want any slower haha The Canon's perform remarkably at this iso.

ewww :/

There are some decent consumer printers out there by Canon and Epson (A3, 6+ inks) for around $600ish that are definately worth the investment.
