yes sir !!!!!
By the way, considering the fact I`d most likely be using a 70-200mm for people and portraits, wouldnt getting the f2.8 L USM ( non IS ) Mk II be better than getting the f4 L IS USM ?! I guess I wont really need the IS for people and portraits, as I could easily be using shutter speeds of around 160 with the f2.8 lens. And they are about the same price.
f/4 is usually too slow for portraits, so you should get 2.8 for dof control. i think IS is very important for portraits, if its shady and you dont want to shoot wide open and no IS, you should use at least 1/200th sec @200mm, that shutter speed with lets say f/8 and shady are would put your ISO way too high and you would get grainy shot. lets say you had to use 5000 ISO(way too grainy/low IQ with noise removal) for the shot, now with IS you could drop the shutter speed to 1/50th sec, and that would mean 1250 ISO(this would be acceptable with 5d mkII) in same light with same f-number.
this kind of basic things shouldnt be explained to guy who is getting 5d mkII. have you thought about getting good glass now and maybe 5d mkIII some day?
