here is a complete glossary if you dont know the meaning of words like aperture or exposure

IS is short for image stabilizer, USM stands for ultra sonic motor which is a very fast and silent auto focus motor...

lol just look around and youll learn pretty fast, I mean like 6 months ago I didnt have any idea of what those words mean either and I am still learning

do u, personally have any great tips for me the only ones i know which that journalist told me are:

1: take a photo of some white paper and manually adjust the white balance
2: for macros put a sheet of white paper behind the object and there will be no shadows

i suggest you shoot raw, so you dont need to care about white balance

first of all just search for some tutorials online
and I am sure the more photos youll take the more you will learn biggrin.gif at least it worked for me. I mean if one shot didnt turn out the way you wanted you would start wondering
why and maybe ask around or look for some answers online.

well if you want to take a pic with nice dof (depth of field) use a very wide aperture that way youll get a nice background blur and make the main object a lot more uh prominent
