Just go shoot it Marie... Bracket exposures and see what you can come up with...

Oh there's that too. If you do an HDR, but you better make sure the horse doesn't move at all.

You can do it from one shot I'd imagine. Get light metered exposure for the shot. Then in post make copies of the original then adjust exposure levels, and of course combine all of them. BUT I wasn't thinking about HDR, I was just thinking about bracketing...

Flash is not a bad idea.. just wondering how far can you be from the horse and have the flash give light?
Cause this specific horse is really afraid of flash...

About the hdr, that's a good idea, except I don't always like the grain that comes with it..
And I'll admit that all my hdr have been made with a single shot

Maybe on sunrise with the horse well aligned?
The sky is never as bright on sunrise and the color is not as red as on sunset....

I'll need to ask my cousin to get up early
Cause to get a horse attention straight forward with the eared perked, can't so that alone
Better to have someone getting the attention instead of the photographer

That'S why although I have 4 horses at home, I very rarely take pictures of them..
They are very annoying models haha

I've found that holding a few apple biscuits helps get their attention.
