Yeah i don't like the creamy look, looks fake.
Matter of taste.

I hate over-sharpened images - unless you're trying to portray a drammatic &/or dynamic situation, it's unflattering.

The framing and birds expression is nice, but I dont like this very much for a couple reasons. First, the bokeh is much too extreme (and generally I love bokeh). Im assuming you were pretty close to a fence when you took this?

The bw is worse than the color because it makes the front of the bird look even more overexposed, and the contrast is kind of gross to be honest. Needs more blacks. Colored versions colors are very dull, and again his front is too bright :x

Now maybe I can get a comment on mine, since I never fail to get skipped when I post in here xD

Lol, i'll go ahead and rate this. I didn't skip you! :D

First of all, even though the exposure looks "right". It is underexposed simply due to the fact that i cannot see the eyes. Eyes is everything for animal shots!. Also the tips of the wings have lost detail.

Secondly, i know you have a thing with square crops.. but it doesn't quite work out for that image above. I dunno how to explain it but seems these "action" shots are best to have tight crops. The water in front doesn't help with the scene, and on top of that.. The water behind the geese and the water in the foregrounds are different shades.

I'd add a white drop shadow for your name on your watermark. It's one of my fav's.

Is that a one light setup with a reflector? Love the pose and the lighting, compliments the mood very well.

Yes, that's right :)

I like it, interesting point of view. It had to be in the last contest IMHO.
