looks like i cant edit my post, so excuse the double post, but my pic above seems very flat, like no depth. anyone care to cc about that?

Maybe if you had taken it at a different angle it wouldnt have appeared as flat? Like had the columns going at a diagonal.

The pp probably doesnt help though, theres no contrast, its all the same grey. LD's photo has nice depth with all the different shades (and the leading lines help too ofc).

there were so many people around and unfortunately that was my best angle. but i think your right, it was not a good candidate for B&W since the sky was so bland and naturally grey, and the people too :P .
