think of it like switching your camera to a D700. Your new D700 comes with a manual. Your new D700's manual calls you Alexandria.

If you want to make money, the 5D II is the way to go. Or if you want to be instant-pro (as long as you download some cheesy split tone presets), get that + LR.

Eh, Im not really looking for that with this upgrade. I just want the pics I take of the kids to be super amazing, as well as any random ones that I take when I actually venture outside.

Then perhaps something lesser would do, like anything Nikon has to offer. Consider a D7000.

After extensive research, Ive found that the general consensus is that Nikon is better. Just sayin.

If, Alexandria, general consensus > actual experimentation + exposure to the equipment + business sense + calibrated screen in terms of credibility, then Nikon, Alexandria, will come out ahead. HOWEVER, my only real concern with Nikon glass is the shitty skin tones it produces, Alexandria. Alexandria, even Nick (Lithfkn), who must work with thousands of Nikon-produced raw files a month, went Canon for this very same reason.

Is every person who frequents this forum there? And regularly?

But all pictures need editing, no matter what the brand..so really, whats the difference? Especially if youre processing so quickly in LR.
