first: i like the look of them gorilla pods, coz u can wrap them round trees!!

second: would u recommend just getting the body and a different lens, or is that lens good for me to start out on?

the Lada is harder to handle then the Ferrari??

mate plz im not getting a 40D its way out of my usage, maybe for someone like you who is good at dslr's!!

i bet lada is way harder to handle than ferrari, since you most likely would need to be pushing it to move etc.

Atleast here you can get 40d with little used from shop(with one year warranty) for 600 euros(body only) and new 450d with crap kit lens for just a bit more. But buy what u want.

hehe, but as Futurama said i would prefer a brand new spanking new camera! tongue.gif

i would consider getting a non-crap lens, and just buy the body, however - if you can recommend somthing good, baring in mind your idea of a crap lens will be the best lens ive ever seen in my life.

I think you'll be doing fine with the kit lens for a lil while unless you want to spend 600 something US dollars on a better lens right away tongue.gif

haha didnt even know those gorilla tripod actually existed. just did a search on google and found this :
looks pretty weird but nifty though

btw what kind of lens are you looking for? and what kind of photography are you most interested in, like landscape, portrait, wildlife etc

you can get 50mm 1.8 for around 100 dollars or less and it beats the crap out of the kit lens, but its a prime so no zoom.

lmao unless you want to buy 3 different lenses for those purposes.. otherwise you have the ef-s 17-85 IS USM, the one I have which is a pretty good all round lens, or if you want to spend 1000+ dollars on ef-s 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM which is probably the best all round lens for a camera with APSC (fov crop) sensor or there are several good zoom lenses made by Sigma and Tokina if you dont mind third party lenses. well lmao it takes ALOT of researching and googling and reading some of those photography forums to find the lens you really want smile.gif

just ask Chantal lmao she has been looking for a ultra wide angle lens for months now laugh.gif and still hasnt made up her mind

yea from 18mm to 55mm, like the name says, but zooms have smaller hole in the lens, so you cant shoot in so dark and you cant get bokeh so easilly
