Congrats on the 7D Marie! It's exactly the camera I will buy one day! :) I wanted to go full frame and the 7 D seems to be cheap for what I need it for.

No offense but it sounds like she regards photography as a fun hobby that earns her a little extra cash on the side, not her true "business".

That.

Last time I rented the big Cannon (yes, 2 n's) I had a talk with an employee there and was asking about upgrades and all.. and he said the 7D was the best upgrade before going into really too much money...
He praised the new auto focus that was fast and reliable and the focus points as well...
But then... when you start shopping, it is hard to see the limit.... 7D body only? 7D with a lens? 5D body only? 5D with a lens?
I had no idea where to start/stop....
But now it is clear.. for what I want to have fun with, I think the 7D with the kit lens (28-105) is my perfect match :)
Ofc when I have enough of it paid off, I can start renting the big white Cannon again! (the huge 70-200 2.8... I absolutely LOVE that lens...)

That's pretty good logic to me, imo! I see lots of people spending even more on their fun hobbies. I really enjoy photography as a hobby and an art rather than a business. I like your logic :D Keep up the good work ;)

My brother would absolutely go with you  he so wants to visit Dubai... damn, I don't even know where to start with that place... or how to describe it - but it's not cheap.
