can you help me out with lens information?

well you have to think for yourself what you want and what you need. if you invest 2000 bucks into a 5D Mark II you shouldnt get cheap ass lenses for it ( except the 50mm 1.8 ). If you want quality and video, I´d suggest you to get a 7D and some decent glass. considering your budget, I come to think of lenses like the tamron 17-50mm 2.8 as a standard zoom, a canon 10-22mm 2.8 for ultra wide angle and a canon 70-200mm f4 IS for tele. and ofc you have to have the canon 50mm 1.8.

If you dont want to shoot sports or fast moving objects and you dont necesarily need video, you could also just get a Canon 50D. rather puristic, but definately a good body to start with.

as others already said, you´ll always need a few other things besides body and lenses. stuff like a tripod, a flash, filters, wireless triggers, battery grip, extra batteries etc.

you should consider that aswell when calculating your budget.

What I´m saying is, the Canon EOS 5D Mark II is a prosumer body. It is rather complex in it´s abilities, and I dont think you´ll be able to bail out it´s potential just now. So I´d go for a middle class body and a few good lenses with different application areas, just to make sure you have ambitions for photography, and to build out your personal preferences. you can always get a pro body once you are sure you need one. but for now, I dont see a need for you to get such an expensive camera. I also wouldn´t suggest you to get an entry DSLR like the 1000D or 500D or stuff of that nature. I´ve been trough that and I know today, that it´s much better to spend a few extra bucks right at the beginning instead of getting a small cheap body, which you´ll propably be wanting to upgrade after a few months or a year.

as for the selling photos, I´m not a professional photographer yet, if that´s what you were trying to ask. I´ll propably be going to start studying photo design this year though. In general I sell my stuff if people ask for it. happened a few times.
